Side effects

* Flatulence
* Hypersensitivity of the skin to sunlight (photosensitivity)
* In children, discoloration of the teeth and damage to the enamel
* Discoloration of the teeth, tongue, bone and thyroid
* Bold chair
* Gastro-intestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
* Allergic skin reactions such as redness, itching and swelling (occasionally)
* Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath with hypersensitivity (rare)
* Hepatitis or acute liver and renal failure (very rare or isolated cases)
Interaction
There are agents whose concomitant use reduces the absorption of the active ingredient, such as milk and dairy products, iron salts, activated carbon, acid binders.
The safety of contraceptives may be impaired.
The hypoglycemic effect of antidiabetic agents may be enhanced.
Certain classes of drugs such as sleeping and pain killers and alcohol can affect the action.
The plasma concentration of digitalis can increase and lead to toxicity.
