How does the component?
Ofloxacin is used in bacterial eye infections.
Millions of bacteria every day trying to get into our bodies: they live in the air, in food, or on the skin. Not all microorganisms harmful to people, some we even need - for example, the intestinal bacteria help us with digestion.
The harmful bacteria will take care our immune system. It destroyed most of the intruders before they can install and multiply. Only very rarely denied the body's defenses, the pathogen can multiply undisturbed, and there is an infection.
Antibiotics are drugs that fight bacteria without harming human cells. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone. It prevents the gyrase, a bacterial protein that is necessary for the transfer of genetic information.
The genetic material of bacteria, the DNA consists of long filaments that are a thousand times longer than the bacterium itself. So they still fit into the cell, the DNA gyrase rolls the threads on a spiral. Where information is required, then folds the DNA gyrase apart in the right place - the information is read, and the DNA gyrase rolled back together.
Without the gyrase the bacteria can not use genetic information: it can not multiply, and important metabolic processes take place. Bacteria are killed by the inhibition of gyrase.
