How does the component?
Fucibet / Fucidin cream contains the active ingredient fusidic acid and is used as an antibiotic for bacterial skin diseases.
On and in our bodies, millions of bacteria. Many of them are harmless and some people need even (eg intestinal bacteria for digestion). Harmful bacteria but are fought by the immune system. The immune cells can destroy the enemy's most germs before they can settle and multiply. Only very rarely fails the body's defenses, the pathogen can multiply undisturbed, and there is an infection.
Antibiotics are drugs that fight bacteria without harming the human body cells. Some antibiotics can kill bacteria, while others only prevent the growth of germs - the rest will take care of the immune system. Since each antibiotic is only effective against certain bacteria prior to treatment as the pathogens should be identified.
Fucibet / Fucidin is effective against certain gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative cocci, such as various staphylococci. The drug inhibits the production of pathogen proteins, which break down their cell wall structures - the bacteria die off.

Warnings
The medication contains the excipient paraffin and vaseline. They can affect the tensile strength of latex condoms, when the cream in the genital or anal area and then applied a condom is used.
Various ingredients of the drug (eg butylated hydroxyanisole, cetyl alcohol) can cause local skin irritation (eg contact dermatitis) and irritation of the eyes and mucous membranes.

Pregnancy and Lactation
Exercise caution when using the drug during pregnancy.
Fusidic acid is excreted in breast milk. The breast-fed infants this can lead to diarrhea and colonization of the mucous membranes with yeasts, so may need to be weaned. Also, the child hypersensitive to the active ingredient can be (sensitization). In nursing mothers is a treatment with Fucibet / Fucidin necessary, the cream should only be used as short and kleinflächtig as possible. In the chest area, the preparation should not be applied. A contact with the infant's body is treated to be avoided.
Side effects
Listed are the most important known side effects. They can occur, but need not, as each person responds differently to medications.
Sometimes people are allergic to medicines. If you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, stop and call your doctor or pharmacist.
For larger-scale, open skin injury can occur at the beginning of treatment, a transient burning sensation.
In very rare cases allergic skin reactions are possible.
